Updates, Updates!

Okay. Firstly... my first pattern design!

It's Kirby! Yes, I am aware that there was an embroidery malfunction on his eye on the right side of the picture... and I am immensely frustrated by it. Also, I have been told his feet should be bigger.

NO MATTER! ^_^ The pattern is for sale for 3.00USD.

Onward! I also made a Chibi Totoro!

The pattern for this guy was posted in a previous entry. The black around his eyes? Another embroidery fail. But I still like the way he turned out.

I really can't say much about what I'm working on right now... I'm writing up another pattern, and working on a secret swap gift for Bekka. So... I'll get back to you guys on it ^_^

Hiatus Apology!

*creeps in quietly*

Okay, so... I've been absent for a bit. I am sorry v.v

But I made some stuff! And I designed my first pattern... a Kirby!

But since I'm at school right now, and should be studying, pictures will have to wait til tonight. But I'm alive! I promise.

Productive!

THE TONBERRY IS FINISHED.

Bask in his glory. Go on. Bask in it.

I will NEVER make another tonberry as long as I live.

I also finished testing Alexandra's pattern. It doesn't have a face... but it's still cute!

He's guarding my biscuits.

I am now moving on to a host of swap projects I have been sorely neglecting (I'm sorry, Alexandra and Bekka!). Aaaand I think I'll be testing Alexandra's new kokeshi pattern that is FREAKING ADORABLE!!!

Okay. So the theme of the day is owls. How is this geeky, you might ask? Because I'm a geek, and I love owls. And so should you.

Mauritius Dodo

I am fully aware that a Mauritius Dodo is not an owl. But look at him... just look at him! You can't say no to a dodo! Also, I recently purchased Ana Paula Rimoli's book Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet, and it has an adorable owl pattern inside. It's worth the purchase. Vanna's Choice Easy Crochet Critters (a booklet by Lion Brand, about 5 dollars) has some really great patterns, too!

Unproductive.

So I went on my trip to NC, and I REALLY meant to work on testing Alexandra's pattern while I was up there... but we left at 5:30 in the morning, and I forgot all of my crocheting things. Therefore, I have achieved absolutely nothing since Christmas, in the exception of making the eyes for my tonberry. Which still isn't done.

I'm not very good at this blogging thing, am I? XD

Holiday Finished Objects!

Yay! The package FINALLY reached Amanda in Japan, and Morgan has received her gift as well, so I can now post them here!

Morgan's gift: Monokuro Boo! I will eventually be making the black one for her as well... mayhaps as a birthday present, or even a just-because-I-heart-you present. ^_^

Amanda's gift: this bunny! It was one of my first amigurumis, and the very first one that involved embroidering a face. It's a little special looking, but she really liked it!

Both patterns are free, and are listed at the end of this entry!

The tonberry is about 70% complete, I'd say. I'm so excited! I know Mike will love it. I think he's starting to appreciate how much work goes into a project of this size. When I told him it consisted of literally thousands and thousands of stitches, he was most impressed.

News! Alexandra (Firey of Ravelry) has published a delightful snowman amigurumi pattern and has asked me to test it! This is very exciting for me! I'll be working on it this weekend during my trip to North Carolina. The pattern costs 5.00 USD, but it's soooo cute and well worth it! I'll post the link once we're sure the pattern is solid.

One more note: I used this great cup cozy pattern/recipe thing to make my mom a small Christmas gift, and she loved it (I gave it to her early since I accidentally left it on the table when I went to bed ^_^;;). It only took about 30-45 minutes from start to finish... whip one up for your favorite coffee drinker!
